Tennis Committee – Terms of Reference

General:

To represent the views of tennis members of all abilities regarding all tennis related matters at the Club and to report back to members, where appropriate

To consider and provide views on all proposals put forward by the Club Manager and the Board that affect the tennis section and, where appropriate, assist with the implementation

To assist with organising and running tennis activities as appropriate – see specific matters listed below

Junior issues:

To consider and assist with the organisation of all issues relating to club provision for juniors – specifically the Junior Team Representatives (over and under 18)

To assist with the organising of junior teams – specifically the Junior Team Representative (over 18) who is responsible for liaising with the Club Manager and Head Coach with regard to managing the junior teams and who should apply for a DBS certificate, if appropriate to the activities he/she is undertaking

Club Tournament and other events:

To organise/assist with the organisation of the Club tournaments.

To propose ideas regarding events and issues relating to the tennis section and the facilities provided and, where appropriate, organise or assist with the implementation

Club Play and other tennis activities:

To represent the members’ views on Club Play sessions and other activities

Members’ Levels:

To consider and provide views on the levels of members in different groups and, where necessary, to approve the change of levels and the standard required

Club Teams:

To oversee generally the organisation of the Club’s teams; in particular, the number of teams

The Senior Team Organiser on the Committee is specifically responsible for organising the teams and will consult the Committee where required.

To review and comment on issues regarding team training

Safeguarding and Diversity:

To consider all issues regarding safeguarding, diversity and inclusion

NB. All new members of the Committee should be supplied with the Volunteer Policy and have an induction from the Chair of the Committee or another member of the committee, as appropriate.
