The Queen’s State Funeral – Bank Holiday Monday 19 September 2022
The Club mourns the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II last week.
In line with Government guidance, the Club will remain open on Monday for any members to play. However, we hope that members will try to avoid the period of the state funeral as a mark of respect.
No staff will be on site during the day, and the nursery is closed. All Club coaching activities have been cancelled, with the exception of the drop-in groups at 7 and 8pm.
Club Finals Day – Saturday 17 September
A reminder that it’s Finals Day tomorrow for both the annual squash & tennis tournaments. The weather looks set fair, so please come along and support both the players and the Club.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day with drinks & snacks from the bar, plus sandwiches and cakes from our outdoor table by the squash court building entrance.
Grounds update
The new path from the squash court building entrance to courts 1&2 was completed last weekend. As the weather turns wetter please remember to use the path to avoid the slippery grass.
Contractors have been on site to review the condition of courts 3&4 where the undulations have appeared. Their opinion is to leave the courts under review over the winter to allow time to ascertain where the ground settles after a period of rain, etc. We will then look to a solution for spring next year.
Further contractors are coming on site over the next couple of weeks to formulate a plan for structural works to the squash court building to repair the cracks both external and internal on court 2. This will allow us to schedule the laying of two new floors over the winter once completed.
Club Manager Hours
I will be available at the Club over the following hours between 17 – 23 September: Sunday from 0900-1500, Tuesday 0900-1500, Thursday 0900-1500, and Friday 0900-1500. During these times you can obtain drinks & snacks from the bar, as well as balls & accessories, and hire the Slinger ball machine.
Remember that the clubhouse bar is open Tuesday to Thursday from 1830-2130.
