Farewell to Michael Stephens
It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Michael Stephens who has resigned from our group coaching programme. Michael is leaving the club to focus on his business venture, South East London Tennis. Michael’s last day is officially 12th September however he is on annual leave from 3rd to 12th September and so his final day coaching at the club was 2nd September.
New Head Coach appointment
We have, however, been extremely fortunate to have a new coach, Toby Yates, joining us from the start of term. Toby is employed by Parklangley to coach the group coaching sessions and will also be employed by Sydenham Tennis Club as our new Head Coach. We are extremely excited about Toby’s appointment as he brings a wealth of experience from his previous employments at Bromley Tennis Centre and Prenton TC in Liverpool.
Other coaching changes
Dylan Mary, who has been running our new team training programme on Tuesday evenings since last term, is taking over some of Brett’s group coaching sessions as Brett moves to work at the Parklangley Club during the week this term. Brett will continue to coach with us on Saturdays.
Individual coaching and Syd’n’Sam Over 40s session
Since Michael has resigned this also means that he will no longer be coaching 1-2-1 lessons at the club or running our Syd’n’Sam over 40s pay-and-play session on Friday mornings. Toby will be taking over the Friday morning sessions from 4th September and Toby, Dylan and Brett will be available for private 1-2-1 coaching. Please contact the club in the first instance at info@sltcc.co.uk if you would like to arrange 1-2-1 coaching with any of the club coaches.
Farewell collection for Michael
The club is having a collection for Michael. If you would like to make a contribution could we ask that you leave this with Susan or Natalie.
In the meantime, please join us in extending a warm welcome to both Toby and Dylan.
