Gillian Bartlett, new Chair of Sydenham Tennis Club

New Year, new Chair!
The Board has confirmed the appointment of Gillian Bartlett to replace Peter Lewis when he retires at New Year. Gillian has previously represented the tennis section on the Board and, after handing over that role to Gary Lord, she has continued as a Director and Company Secretary.

Gillian has been a member of the tennis committee for several years and will remain so.   She set up the very popular tennis singles leagues on the Tennis Calendar (MyCourts) and then ran these until last October, when this job was taken over by Dez Lewington. Gillian also revived and edited several issues of Club Talk before the Board decided to re-focus member communications upon our website, Twitter, and Facebook.

Peter has served as Chair since replacing, in what was only meant to be a temporary appointment, the former Chair, Andrew Lewis, in July 2012. Peter will remain on the Board as Vice-Chair for the time being.

Speaking at the recent Board meeting, Gillian said “Peter will be a hard act to follow but I look forward to the support of all members as I step into my new role. Fortunately I know I can also rely on the support of our Club Manager, Dez Lewington, who increasingly takes care of the day-to-day management of the club.”
