Changes to Sydenham Tennis Club Board of Directors
Christine Hensby, who has been a director for the last six years, has decided to stand down from the Board. During this period she has carried out the important volunteer role of Membership Secretary and has also had overall responsibility for marketing.
Her contribution to the Club has been significant. Not only has she coordinated all membership issues with considerable skill, she has promoted the Club with great success, particularly in the introduction of social media. She has also been a member of the Tennis Committee. Without her commitment and dedication, the Club would not be in the strong position that it is today and all members will want to thank her and wish her well.
The majority of marketing and membership work will now be carried out by the Club management team, Dez and Liam, who will look to build on Christine’s legacy. However, the Club will still be looking for a new Membership Secretary to join the Board. If you are interested in volunteering for this post, please contact the Club Chair, Gillian Bartlett, for more details at gillian.bartlett@sltcc.co.uk or in person.
Also, we have to say goodbye to Jon Sherman as a director on the Board. He has acted as Club Secretary for the last two years and has carried out essential work, preparing Board agendas and minutes, as well as providing a valuable contribution to Board discussions.
His role will be taken by Simon Taylor, who is already a director and Chair of the Bar Committee, and was formerly the Squash representative. Simon has been on the Board for three years and has considerable experience in all aspects of Club operations. The Board warmly welcomes his appointment.
