Electricity costs
The Club has recently had a further review of electricity charges. So far, since the start of the financial year, the unit cost has increased by approximately 130%. Obviously, this will have a significant impact on Club finances.
If estimated usage is on target, this could mean paying around £17k more in electricity costs this year! We are looking at energy efficiency measures where possible, but members can also help. In particular, please ensure that floodlights are turned off after use and not left on – even with LEDs, it costs almost £4 per hour to light a court!
Some members will remember the recent past when floodlights had to be paid for, and I’m sure no-one wants to go back to this scenario! The Club is not staffed all the time so, if you see a court not in use with floodlights on, please take a moment to switch off. We would much rather use our funds to continue to improve facilities than on unnecessary energy bills!!!

Pickleball Drop-in Session
Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Played on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, over a net.
Running up to Christmas, we will be holding two-hour sessions every Monday afternoon from 1-3pm, led by a qualified coach who will get you on court in a social environment – cost £7.50.

Club Manager Hours
I will be on leave from Tuesday – Friday next week, but available at the Club over this weekend as follows: Saturday from 0900-1500, Sunday 0900-1500, and Monday 0900-1500. During these times you can obtain drinks & snacks from the bar, as well as balls & accessories, and hire the Slinger ball machine.
Remember that the clubhouse bar is open Tuesday to Thursday from 1830-2130.
